Jesus at Guantanamo

As the play's title suggests, audience members are asked to consider what it would be like if Jesus were captured in the Middle East as an unlawful enemy combatant and detained at Guantanamo Bay. With an at times humorous take on serious subjects, Matthew Vaky's character explores the nature of torture and his time with biblical figures such as Peter and Mary Magdalene.

Fourth Annual Semper Fi 5K

The Semper Fi Fund benefits Marines, Sailors, and members of other armed forces who were injured in post 9/11 combat or training. Proceeds also help families of those affected who have hospitalization and recovery financial issues.

This year's race at Anacostia Park will be capped at 1,000 participants, so get in your registration now. National park regulations prohibit same-day registration. The final day for registration is Friday, May 17.

In celebration of Art Museum Day, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the Corcoran, and the Phillips Collection will all be free to visitors during their usual visitation hours on Saturday. Normally ranging in admission price from $10 to $12, you can check out these private collections that are often missed by Smithsonian visitors downtown.

Eurovision Song Contest Viewing Party

If you're missing a taste of Europe and want to be part of the fun of the annual Eurovision Song Contest, the Swedish Embassy has a treat for you. Check out the fun, snacks, and bars set up for party-goers who want to cheer for their favorite country this year. You'll find six large high-definition screens are available for viewing, courtesy of last year's contest winner, Sweden, which is also the host country for this year's competition. Your admission pays for one drink.

Admission to this year's Soundbites gets you access to seven musical acts, a mixology contest, and food tastings from area food trucks and restaurants. Performing acts include Lee Fields and the Expressions, DEATHFIX, DJ Will Eastman, The Razz, Kid Congo and His Kid Congo Power Hour, Richard Morel's Hot Sauce, and Batala. Proceeds benefit the DC Central Kitchen, a job training and healthy food anti-poverty and anti-hunger organization.
